Description
NOTE: THIS EVENT WAS CANCELED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.
Join NYC Bird Alliance (formerly NYC Audubon) seasonal associate field biologist, Nic Comparato, for our first ever bat walk! Did you know that several bat species can be found in New York City? From Little Brown Bats, to Big Brown Bats, Hoary Bats, Eastern Red Bats, and more! Come for a stroll at dusk to see and hear these cute critters when they're most active.
Registration required. Limited to 25. Free. Participants will need close-toed shoes, bug spray, and a flashlight or headlamp.
Accessibility and Directions:
This outing follows both paved and unpaved paths and may require navigating muddy areas and somewhat uneven terrain. (The path goes through some wet areas, which have been made navigable by placement of stepping stones and short board-walks). Please note that restrooms are NOT available on site. Nearby transit stops to the Pat Dolan Trail entrance include the Q20A, Q20B, and Q64 buses. Street parking may be available along Park Drive East.
