Description

Join NYC Bird Alliance (formerly NYC Audubon) seasonal associate field biologist, Nic Comparato, for a night of "batting"! Did you know that several bat species can be found in New York City? From Little Brown Bats, to Big Brown Bats, Hoary Bats, Eastern Red Bats, and more! Come for a stroll at dusk to see and hear these cute critters when they're most active.

Registration required. Limited to 25. Free. Participants will need close-toed shoes, bug spray, and a flashlight or headlamp.

Accessibility and Directions:

This outing follows both paved and unpaved paths and may require navigating muddy areas and somewhat uneven terrain. (The path goes through some wet areas, which have been made navigable by placement of stepping stones and short board-walks). The Q65 bus stop as well as restrooms can be found near the meeting spot.
