Description
Join NYC Bird Alliance's (formerly NYC Audubon) Young Conservationist Council member, Ryan Mandelbaum, to explore New York City's largest park this fall. Pelham Bay Park's forested areas, salt marshes, and grassy meadows offer rich habitat for a variety of migrating birds. Scopes may come in handy if you have them.
NEW MEETING LOCATION: The group will meet at the Aileen B. Ryan Recreational Complex located at Middletown Rd, Bronx, NY 10465.
Registration not required but encouraged. No Limit. Free.
In case you're wondering how to become a Young Conservationist, a donation of $25 will earn you a Young Conservationist level membership with NYC Bird Alliance. Young Conservationist is a membership level for nature lovers ages 18-35. Membership gives you discounts on most trips and classes and invitations to special YC member events, while also supporting NYC Bird Alliance's conservation, advocacy, and engagement efforts throughout the City's five boroughs.
Accessibility and Directions:
Public transportation to the park is possible via the 6 train and then Bx29 bus. Restrooms can be found on the north end of Orchard Beach Road. To learn more about the facilities available, as well as directions to Pelham Bay Park, please visit the Friends of Pelham Bay Park's website.
