For Climate Week 2024, join NYC Bird Alliance (formerly NYC Audubon) Young Conservationist Council member Ryan Mandelbaum and get to know the fall bird migrants of “Brooklyn's Backyard,” beautiful Prospect Park. The meadows, forests, and waterways of Prospect Park attract a dazzling variety of migratory birds on their way south, including warblers, tanagers, cuckoos, and more. 

The group will meet at the Stranahan Statue by the north entrance of the park, between Flatbush Avenue and East Drive. Registration not required but encouraged. No limit. Free.

In case you're wondering how to become a Young Conservationist, a donation of $25 will earn you a Young Conservationist level membership with NYC Audubon. Young Conservationist is a membership level for nature lovers ages 18-35. Membership gives you discounts on most trips and classes and invitations to special YC member events, while also supporting NYC Audubon's conservation, advocacy, and engagement efforts throughout the City's five boroughs. 

Accessibility and DIrections:

Prospect Park trails are paved and mostly flat. Multiple restrooms can be found all across the park. There is no onsite parking. Various public transportation stop by the meeting point, including the B41 and B69 buses, as well as the 2, 3, 4, B, and Q lines. For more information on directions, visit the Prospect Park website.
