Description

Pride shouldn't only be celebrated during June! Join NYC Bird Alliance (formerly NYC Audubon) at LGBTQ+ historical monument Alice Austen House for a Let's Go Birding Together (LGBT) outing this fall. Right on Staten Island's eastern coast, Alice Austen Park provides a beautiful view of The Narrows, where one may also find different species of waterbirds. After the bird tour, stick around and check out the current exhibition at the Alice Austen House museum.

Alice Austen House is located on 2 Hyland Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305. Registration not required but encouraged. No limit. Free.

Accessibility and Directions:

This park has a mix of paved and unpaved paths on fairly flat terrain. The Alice Austen House museum is wheelchair accessible and contains a restroom. There is a small gravel parking lot behind the museum, accessible from Hylan Boulevard. Street parking is generally available along Edgewater Street at the corner of the museum. Otherwise, the site is accessible by the S78 bus. For more information about the Alice Austen House and Park, you can visit the museum's website as well as NYC Parks' website.
