Celebrate Black Birders Week 2024 (May 25-May 30) with NYC Bird Alliance! Black Birders Week was created in 2020 by the BlackAFinSTEM Collective to celebrate and empower Black individuals in nature, promoting a more inclusive, diverse, and welcoming space.  Learn more at BAFiS website.

 

In celebration of Black Birders Week, the Central Park Conservancy and NYC Bird Alliance invite you to a special guided birding tour through the North Woods—one of Central Park’s most scenic and ecologically diverse landscapes.

 

Black Birders Week was created in 2020 by the BlackAFinSTEM Collective to highlight and uplift on Black birders, scientists, naturalists, and outdoor enthusiasts. This guided tour explores the unique habitats of the North Woods while centering the knowledge, perspectives, and experiences of Black birders.

 

Birding is for everyone—we hope you'll join us for this inspiring walk through nature.

 

All experience levels are welcome! Binoculars will be available to borrow, or feel free to bring your own. Register here! 

 

Accessibility & Directions:

This event is $35, Central Park Conservancy members receive a 20% discount. Central Park generally contains paved and unpaved paths of varying inclines, with uneven trails and some stairs.
