Description
Did you know that several bat species can be found in New York City? Join NYC Bird Alliance and wildlife scientist Nic Comparato for a bat walk! Nic specializes in the bioacoustic study of bats and birds and supports our conservation efforts as one of our seasonal associate field biologists.
Take a stroll at dusk to see—and hear—these fascinating nocturnal creatures at their most active. From Little Brown Bats, to Big Brown Bats, Hoary Bats, Eastern Red Bats, and more!
Rain date: Thursday, July 10. Registration required. Limited to 25. Free. Participants will need close-toed shoes, bug spray, and a flashlight or headlamp.
Accessibility and Directions:
This outing follows both paved and unpaved paths and may require navigating muddy areas and somewhat uneven terrain. (The path goes through some wet areas, which have been made navigable by placement of stepping stones and short board-walks). The Q65 bus stop as well as restrooms can be found near the meeting spot.
