Description
Join NYC Bird Alliance's Tod Winston on an extended exploration of the expanse of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge's West and East Ponds, looking for migrating wading birds, raptors, shorebirds, waterfowl, and warblers! Participants are encouraged to bring lunch to eat together at the refuge, as well as insect repellant and boots or shoes that can get muddy.
Registration required. NYC Bird Alliance Members $30, non-members $45. Limited to 15.
Accessibility and Directions:
This event involves 3-4 miles of walking, including navigating sometimes muddy areas. Restrooms are available at the meeting location, but will not open till one hour after the event start time. The meeting location is a one-mile walk from the Broad Channel A subway station; it is also accessible via the Q21 and Q53 buses. Free parking is available.
