Learn the keys to identifying the spectacular variety of birds that migrate through New York City every fall. Even if you've never picked up a pair of binoculars, you’ll soon be identifying warblers, thrushes, waterbirds, and more—both by sight and by ear. The course includes three educational in-person classes and birding outings in Central Park and Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.

Binoculars available upon request. $140 for NYC Audubon members, $200 for non-members. Limited to 12 people.

Note on Accessibility:
All in-person classes will take place in the NYC Bird Alliance office located in the Flatiron Area on 23rd St. Exact address to be shared upon registration. Restrooms are available on our office floor.

Central Park Outing: This outing will follow both paved and unpaved paths and may include steps and slight inclines. Restrooms will be available midway through the route.

Jamaica Bay Outing: This outing will follow both paved and unpaved paths on level ground; some areas may be slightly damp or muddy. Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center. The Visitor Center is a one-mile walk from the Broad Channel A subway station; it is also accessible via the Q21 and Q53 buses. Free parking is available in the Visitor Center lot. Visit the National Park Service website for the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge for comprehensive directions by public transportation and car.
