Description

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day and learn how we can make our cities better for both birds and people. This year’s theme, “Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities,” focuses on the protection of migratory birds in and around urban environments from threats such as habitat loss, window collisions, and light pollution.

Found at the northern tip of Manhattan along the Harlem River waterfront, Sherman Creek is a small street-end park with lots to uncover. Its proximity to Highbridge Park, Fort Tyron Park, and Inwood Hill Park make it a prime destination for migratory birds. Come see what you this small but vibrant park has to offer.

The group will be meeting at the entrance at W199 St & 10th Ave. Registration not required but highly encouraged. Free.

Directions/Accessibility Notes

The paths are paved and there is an accessible ramp found at 202 St. There is a public restroom on-site. The nearest stop to the meeting point is Dyckman St on the 1 line.
