Come out to look for wintering waterfowl, raptors, and songbirds, as well as early spring migrants, at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge's East and West Ponds. Co-led by Tod Winston and Don Riepe.
Registration required. $30 for NYC Bird Alliance members, $45 for non-members. Limited to 25.
Accessibility: Mostly flat paths with some paved areas. Some uneven or sandy surfaces near the shoreline. Restrooms are available at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center.
Directions: The Visitor Center is a one-mile walk from the Broad Channel A subway station; it is also accessible via the Q21 and Q53 buses. Free parking is available in the Visitor Center lot. Visit the National Park Service website for the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge for comprehensive directions by public transportation and car.
