Description

Join NYC Bird Alliance for a morning of beginner-friendly birding to look and listen for birds including a resident of the Redfern Houses the Yellow-Crowned Night Heron. These birds have built their nests in the Rockaways, specifically at the Hammel and Redfern NYCHA housing complexes.
No experience necessary! Binoculars provided. Please note this outing is weather permitting.
Registration not required but encouraged. The group will meet in front of the NYCHA Redfern Community Center at 15-44 Hassock St.
NYCHA in Nature is a partnership program with NYC Bird Alliance and the Public Housing Community Fund to offer birding opportunities and exposure to nature for NYCHA residents and the general public. The program will explore the outdoor space within the NYCHA developments as well as nearby public green space.
