Love the beach? So do nesting shorebirds, like the piping plover. These tiny shorebirds fly over 700 miles to nest at Rockaway Beach every year. Join NYC Bird Alliance, NYC Park’s Piping Plover Team and other community partners for a day of educational activities and crafts to help us better understand how we can all share the beach and support a healthy living environment. Event is for all ages, with activities geared to younger audiences.

This event will be held on Rockaway Beach Boardwalk at Beach 60th street. Feel free to join us for our Rockaway Community Bird Outing from 11am - 12pm. 

Directions: Public transportation is available via the A Train to Beach 60th street. The Beach 67th Station, which is nearby, offers elevator access. Accessible public restrooms can be found at the Beach 60th Street Playground just off the boardwalk, and at the Arverne East Nature Preserve building at Beach 44th Street, at the half-way point on this outing.
