Accessible Birding in Van Cortlandt Park with Alex Wang (11/21)

Join us at one of the Bronx's largest green spaces and a popular birding hotspot for an accessible outing. This outing is formated to accommodate a wide range of mobility needs for birders with stroller, wheelchair, walker, cane, and other mobility aids.

Led by birding guide and educator Alexandra Wang (Avian Alex), M.S. Ed., this inclusive outing offers specialized resources such as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) pamphlets, Braille guides, and plush bird replicas, ensuring an enjoyable and enriching birdwatching experience for everyone.  Further accommodations can be requested in advance by emailing Alex at alexmwang1992@gmail.com. 

Registration not required but encouraged. This outing is free. The group will meet at the main entrance of Van Cortlandt Nature Center. 

Accessibility: Restrooms are located throughout the park, including at the Van Cortlandt Pool on Broadway between West 242nd Street and Manhattan College Parkway.

Directions: The 1 train and Bx9, BxM3, 0001, 0002, and 0003 buses stop closest to the path leading to the meeting point. For more information on directions, visit the NYC Parks website.  Please note if you plan to drive, we recommend you arriving before 8:30am.
