Description

NYCHA residents and nearby community members are invited to join NYC Bird Alliance for beginner-friendly birding to look and listen for birds! We'll slowly stroll through the Cooper Park complex, focusing on easy ways to notice birds around us. No experience necessary! Binoculars are available to borrow.

Registration not required but encouraged. Free. The group will meet outside of Cooper Park Older Adult Center 288 Frost St, Brooklyn, NY 11222. Please note this outing is weather permitting.

NYCHA in Nature is a partnership program with NYC Bird Alliance and the Public Housing Community Fund to offer birding opportunities and exposure to nature for NYCHA residents and local community members. The program will explore the outdoor space within the NYCHA developments as well as nearby public green space.

Accessibility: We will travel on flat, paved paths throughout the event. Restrooms can be found at the meeting location.
